In the August meeting we were treated to a talk on Meshtastic. Our VP Dave, KC7MAD introduced Matt Fiscus, KK7MNZ who explained what Meshtastic offers for a mesh network. Matt passed around several mesh nodes and other related items so the membership could get a good idea of what’s involved. These represent a low-cost and convenient way to get into mesh networking. Both the door prize and raffle prize were mesh nodes of different types.
We also learned that the tech committee is taking a different approach to linking the repeaters with the aim of getting a full duplex connection between them. At the moment the repeaters are not linked, and when they are linked (soon) they will initially have a half duplex link.
